Real Madrid vs Manchester City - preview, team news, lineups and live stream

Real Madrid and Manchester City preview:

Real Madrid and Manchester City are set to face off in the first leg of this season's Champions League semi-finals on May 9th, 2023, at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu. The match is scheduled to kick off at 8:00 pm BST, and it promises to be a highly anticipated encounter between two of Europe's top teams.

Both teams have been in fine form this season, with Real Madrid currently sitting in 2nd place in La Liga and Manchester City leading the Premier League table. Real Madrid will be relying on their attacking trio of Karim Benzema, Vinicius Junior, and Rodrygo to provide the goals needed to secure a win. Meanwhile, Manchester City will be looking to their star striker Erling Haaland and midfield maestro Kevin De Bruyne to lead the charge and score the goals needed to secure a victory.

In their previous encounter, City managed to win the first leg 4-3 at the Etihad Stadium and were close to securing a spot in the final after Riyad Mahrez extended their aggregate lead at the Bernabeu. However, Real Madrid managed to stage a comeback at the last minute, scoring two incredibly late goals to force extra-time and winning the match in the additional half-hour. This heartbreaking loss prevented City from reaching the final, which was eventually won by Real Madrid, who lifted their 14th European title.
